Credential transparency
Know what each learning record means
Every listed learning offer must state who issues its credential, what completion demonstrates, and what it does not claim.
A course or programme does not issue a credential unless its listing explicitly names the credential, issuer, completion requirements, and verification method.
- Participation record
- Confirms recorded participation only. It does not certify competence, assessment, accreditation, or professional standing.
- Lay Links completion certificate
- Confirms that published Lay Links completion requirements were met. The course page must identify those requirements and the evidence used.
- Partner completion certificate
- Issued under the named partner's authority and terms. The course page must identify the issuing organisation.
- Co-branded completion certificate
- Issued under a written partnership agreement that defines each organisation's authority and responsibilities.
- Regulated or recognised qualification
- May be described only when the awarding body, regulator or recognition basis, programme approval, and learner terms have been independently verified.
