Information We Collect

Lay Links collects information you provide when creating an account or profile, submitting a booking or contact request, adding ministry media links, acting as a referee, or communicating with our team. This may include names, contact details, church or ministry affiliations, profile content, booking details, referee responses, and account activity.

Public Profile Information

Information selected for a public talent profile may be visible to anyone and may be indexed by search engines. Private contact details, referee records, booking details, account settings, and internal moderation notes are not intended for public display.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate accounts and profiles, publish directory content, process booking requests, conduct verification reviews, communicate workflow updates, respond to enquiries, prevent misuse, maintain security, and improve the reliability of Lay Links.

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate the service, including with the relevant profile owner, requester, referee, authorised Lay Links administrators, and service providers that support hosting, authentication, database, and email delivery. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect people, rights, and platform security.

Cookies And Authentication

Lay Links uses essential browser storage and authentication cookies to keep users signed in, protect sessions, remember privacy choices, and provide account features. Optional media analytics operate only after consent. You can change that choice through the Privacy choices control in the footer. We do not use essential authentication data for unrelated advertising.

Media Analytics

When optional analytics are allowed, Lay Links records bounded events such as a media page view, a player start, playback startup time, buffering duration, broad playback error category, completion milestones, and a search result count. Search text is converted to a keyed one-way hash before storage. Analytics records do not contain email addresses, IP addresses, raw search text, browser user-agent strings, page URLs, referrers, or free-form payloads. Automated monitoring and detected bot activity are excluded from audience and engagement totals. Session counts describe observed consented browser sessions, not verified people.

Public Experience Analytics

After optional analytics consent, Lay Links may record coarse categories such as a public-page view or a directory, enrolment, trust, help, or privacy-choice action. These events use a pseudonymous session hash and do not accept raw page URLs, profile slugs, search queries, referrers, browser user-agent strings, form content, contact details, profile content, or account identifiers. Events expire after 30 days. Declining or withdrawing optional analytics removes the analytics session cookie and stops future public-experience events.

Retention And Security

We retain information for as long as needed for its stated purpose, legitimate operational records, dispute handling, legal obligations, and platform protection. Public-experience analytics expire after 30 days. Media content-view analytics are retained for up to 90 days and other media playback or search analytics for up to 30 days. Access to detailed analytics is restricted. We apply access controls and other reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices And Rights

You may update your account and profile information through your dashboard. You may also ask us to access, correct, restrict, or delete personal information, subject to identity verification and any legal or operational retention requirements.
